The Clark G.A. 43 is a high-performance, single-engined monoplane built by the American General Aviation Manufacturing Corporation. The G.A. 43 accommodates ten passengers and has five separate metal fire-proof compartments in wings and fuselage for mail, freight and baggage. It was thus the first all-metal aircraft in the Swissair fleet. It also had a retractable undercarriage in which the wheels swing backwards into special streamline casings below the wings.
