The world of miles

Two key elements are crucial to the success of a customer loyalty programme: a common currency, and an attractive network of global and local programme partners that allows members to collect miles or points through many day-to-day activities and redeem these for attractive programme awards.

Collecting miles

The Qualiflyer programme offered two kinds of miles: Club Miles and Bonus Miles.

			Any miles earned on the Qualiflyer airlines counted as Club Miles. As well as earning awards, these miles were used to determine whether the member qualified for a higher membership level on the basis of their air travel activity.
			All miles earned on Qualiflyer partner airlines or through any other partner (such as hotels and credit card companies) counted as Bonus Miles, which could be redeemed for awards.

Spending miles

Flight awards - in the form of Free Tickets, Companion Tickets or upgrades - were available for as little as 5 000 miles. In addition to these, the programme offered a host of further attractive awards, ranging from pralines to hotel stays, for various mileage amounts.
